The things that makes ya feel old!

When I got out of the Army back in '98 and started working with youth at a church (my first time being a Youth Leader). Well there where children in that church who where in the Youth Group and children who where too young to be in the Youth Group.

We changed churches about 4 years ago and have not really been back to the old church as we are actually involved at our new church as Sunday School teachers.

Well today one of the youth was married. And the main thought that kept going thru my mind was that he was one of my Youths! But alas he has grown up and is no longer a youth but an adult.

But the real kicker was the number of youth now that where children the last time I saw them. A girl who was in 8th grade being a High School graduate. Another girl who was not even in the Youth Group has all grown up. A young man who has not only graduated High School but also college and is now a teacher at a high school.

It was one of those moments where you look at these young adults and remember when their major concern was what they where going to do after school on Monday. But now they are graduates and holding jobs and getting married.

So it was a nice wedding. And as I said a time to make one feel like they are aging ;-)

One week and then its the last!

Woke up this morning and got the younglings ready for school. Then went back to bed until it was time for this oldling to go to school.

Got to school at 11:25 am showed Javier my AD 2003 Study Guides and was leaving the school at 11:35 am. Yup I drove to school just to show my instructor 6 chapters worth of definitions so he could check them off and then went right back home.

So what does all this mean? Well for starters I am officially finished with this term and have one term to go.

Yup in a short 10 weeks I will be graduating with my AA in Computer Network Engineering and will no longer be a student but will be officially unemployed (well technically not even that as Ill be my own boss so i guess I will be under worked!) Its starting to hit me that I am pulling up to the start/finish line and I don't know if I am ready for this lap of my life. I am scared yet excited.

I have proposed an idea to a certain person and I am hoping that this idea can be brought to fruition as it will help me out immensely with supporting the family while the business is getting built up. It will also help out the person and his staff a lot in their work load. But that, as vague as I had to make it sound, is in God's hands and is up to Him if it happens. Right now I am trying to discern how God wants me to go about the next phase. My options are as follows:

1. Tough it out and hope that work comes in and that my business flourishes

2. Suck it up and start NOW putting in applications for IT jobs and hope I have time to get my business going

3. Eat crow and start putting in applications for part time jobs (ie Starbucks, Wal-Mart, etc) where I will be able to work on the business

4. Really hope that the idea I have put out there (the one I was talking about above) pans out

5. Pack up and move to some country where money is not important

Well I have a week with no school to enjoy. But alas I have the Bookstore tomorrow night and Saturday to contend with.

Oh yeah Saturday an old friend is coming to town and we will be getting together as well as I am being dragged off to a wedding of one of my youth from our old church. SO Saturday is looking to be quite full.

Wow what happened?

I went to bed and it was Thursday night and now its Monday evening!!!!!!!

What happened to my weekend?

Ok so I felt like crap for most of it, the stress of this term just took me out. As well as the weather over the past oh 3 weeks finished me off. This being in the 90's one day and then the 40's the next; Hot and sunny one day then wet and cold the next: THAT mostly has been tearing my sinuses up.

So this weekend came and went and for the most part I don't think I existed in it.

Ok enough lamenting the lost weekend. Now to the good stuffs:

This term is unofficially over and I think I maintained my 4.0! How? I have no clue. But I took my final last week and got a 90.9% and took my practical/skills today and got a 91%. Most of module exams where in the mid 90%'s and then my project was close to 100%. So I think I manage to get a 95% or better for Cisco 3. AD was basically 100%. So it seems my 4.0 in my core is safe this term. (and I would have a 4.0 across the board if I did not suck at English and earned an A- in Comp 1)

Well as usual its Monday so look for a new song to be playing (for those who turn your sound of when visiting here ;-) )
